Svendborg Museum - Oldsagssamlingen ved Broholm Slot
Step into a rare time capsule where thousands of flint artefacts reveal traces of early life in South Fyn.

Oldsagssamlingen på Broholm is located in the grounds of Broholm Slot between Oure and Gudme. The collection includes more than 70,000 flint objects and is one of Denmark’s most extensive assemblages from the Stone Age.
The collection was created in the mid-19th century by estate owner Niels Frederik Bernhard Sehested and remains largely unchanged since his time. Today, it is owned by Svendborg Museum, preserving its character as a historical time capsule.
The distinctive three-winged museum building from 1878 was designed by Sehested himself and is among Denmark’s earliest purpose-built museums. The site also documents the country’s first experimental archaeology projects, carried out long before the term was established.
